Winners of the recent SHD Logistics Awards held in London

SHD Logistics’ first annual Logistics awards ceremony was a rousing success!

SHD Awards dinnerMore than 350 guests helped to celebrate the night at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair to honour some of the best companies in the industry, and to raise money for some needy causes. The success of the first awards ceremony means that these events will become a fixture for the logistics sector in the South for a long time to come.

But let’s take a look at the winners!

Briggs Equipment UK sponsored the Innovation Award, which was won by Palletline.

Norbert Dentressangle took home the first Multimodal Award, sponsored by Potter Logistics.

Fresh logistics came away with the Operations (SME) award.

The Safety award went home with Babcock International Devonport, and the New/Startup Facility award went to Vantec Europe.

Wiley/Storage Aspects/Chichester Haulage won the Warehouse Efficiency Award, Europa Worldwide were given the Improvement award, and the Corporate Responsibility Award went to a little-known grocer called Marks & Spencer. I predict big things from them.

Barfoots of Botley took home the Environment/Sustainability Award, and Molson Coors/TVS won the Operations (Large) award.

The editor’s award went to Partner Logistics, and the overall winner, chosen from the eleven category winners, was Marks & Spencer. See, I told you they would be big.

After a lovely three-course dinner prepared by the Mayfair Hotel’s catering staff, comedian Miles Jupp was emceed the ceremony itself, giving out the awards and keeping the crowd entertained. Following the awards, the delegates and attendees mingled in the Mayfair’s foyer to network and gamble a bit at the casino tables set up for the event – all for charity of course.

In all, the evening raised £1595 for charity that night, and gave some of the leading lights of the logistics sector the recognition they deserve. I’m looking forward to next year’s ceremonies already. Will you be there?
