{"id":40,"date":"2011-04-26T09:38:07","date_gmt":"2011-04-26T09:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whichwarehouse.com\/blog\/?p=40"},"modified":"2025-07-28T09:31:46","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T09:31:46","slug":"east-lancs-warehouse-firm-enters-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whichwarehouse.com\/blog\/3pl\/east-lancs-warehouse-firm-enters-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"East Lancs Warehouse Firm Enters Administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A warehousing and distribution firm based in Darwen, East Lancashire has gone into administration resulting in a total of 60 redundancies.<\/p>\n<p>The warehousing company, which in 2010 enjoyed a turnover of \u00a35.6 million, has been forced to close its doors, with assets being sold off in an attempt to retrieve funds in order to appease its creditors.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Flint, an associate partner at KPMG, which is in charge of the administration proceedings, claimed that the company&#8217;s dependence on achieving larger than average contracts was in direct correlation with the decline of the business.<\/p>\n<p>Having served consumers in the North West and across the UK for more than 90 years, the decline of East Lancashire Warehousing Company Limited is not only a blow for the warehousing industry in the area, with Blackburn-based engineering company Warwick and Bailey announcing the closure of its Blackburn site, with 20 workers losing their jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A warehousing and distribution firm based in Darwen, East Lancashire has gone into administration resulting in a total of 60 redundancies.
