Warehousing Transport Firm Enters Administration

A transport firm which specialised in helping firms with their removals and warehousing has gone into administration, it was reported this week.

Lancashire-based Whittle Movers Limited has a fleet of 64 removal vehicles and 75 trailers, and has significant experience in warehousing matters.

It went into administration following a catastrophic drop in the volume of business and severe cash flow problems on 8 March, with 27 of its 33-strong workforce being made immediately redundant. The problem lay in a sharp reduction in orders from a major client, making the cash flow difficulties worse, according to Paul Flint and Brian Green of KPMG, who were appointed joint administrators on this date by parent company Whittle Movers Group, which has not gone into administration.

Mr Flint added: “We are now actively seeking buyers for the business and its assets and would encourage any interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”
