Harlow is known as a “new town” and is located in the west of Essex, bordering Hertfordshire. Harlow is serviced by the M11 motorway which passed through the Borough to the east of the town. The main road which runs through the town is the A414 which is a major link from Hertford to Chelmsford and links the town of Harlow with the A10 to the west.
